My algorithm and me. Markus Gabriel and Daniel Kehlmann on humans in the age of AI
Daniel Kehlmann (most recent work: “The Director”) is not only a celebrated author. He’s also a shrewd observer of the rampant technological advances that are increasingly determining all our lives. And he raises the alarm about the potential dangers of artificial intelligence (“Mein Algorithmus und Ich” [“My Algorithm and Me”]. He believes art is particularly at risk, warning: “At this point we can still do something about it. But probably not for much longer.” The work of philosopher and epistemologist Markus Gabriel (“Doing Good”) focuses on reality, consciousness and the relationship between the world and me, between human and machine. The two will discuss what the triumph of AI means for our creativity, for our society, for democracy and for our humanity. And they explore how best to deal with this technology. Host: Simone Miller
