Professor Markus Gabriel was born in 1980 and studied in Bonn, Heidelberg, Lisbon and New York. Since 2009, he has been Chair in Epistemology, Modern, and Contemporary Philosophy at the University of Bonn, where he is also Director of the International Centre for Philosophy. He is also Director of the interdisciplinary Center for Science and Thought and a regular guest professor at the Sorbonne (Paris 1). His most recent publications include “I am not a Brain. Philosophy of Mind for the 21st Century” (2017) and a discussion with Matthias Eckoldt in Eckholdt’s book “Kann sich das Bewusstsein bewusst sein?” [“Can Awareness Be Aware?”] (2017).
