About Rabea Weihser
Born in 1981, Rabea Weihser headed up the culture, travel, fashion and lifestyle sections for ZEIT ONLINE. In 2021, she started a two-year stint at the German basketball champion team ALBA BERLIN, where she was the first director of communications and culture in the German basketball league. Since 2023, she has been working as a freelance journalist and author. Her non-fiction book debut, “How We Became so Beautiful”, was published by Diogenes in spring 2025. Since September, she has been inviting guests to her monthly “Schönheitssalon” [“beauty salon”] at Berlin’s Urania cultural center to discuss the political and psychological foundations of contemporary beauty ideals.
