About Gert Scobel
Gert Scobel was born in Aachen in 1959. He is a science journalist and a professor of philosophy and interdisciplinarity at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. Among other things, he has anchored the television programs “Kulturzeit” (3sat) and the ARD morning show. He hosted the weekly interdisciplinary science program “scobel” from 2008-2025 as well as the associated 3sat YouTube channel “scobel” from 2020-2024, which was honored with a Grimme Online Award in 2022. He has written several non-fiction books, most recently “Nicht Denken” [“Don’t Think”] (2018) and “Zwischen Gut und Böse: Philosophie der radikalen Mitte” [“Between Good and Evil: Philosophy of the Radical Middle”] (2021), co-written with Markus Gabriel.
