About Édouard Louis

Édouard Louis was born in 1991. His autobiographical debut novel “The End of Eddy”, in which he writes about his childhood and fleeing from precarious conditions in a Northern French village, caused a considerable stir in 2015. The book became an international bestseller and made Louis a literary star. His books have been published in 30 countries and many of them were adapted to the stage and film. He has had various opportunities to share his thoughts on literature, including as Samuel Fischer Visiting Professor at the Free University of Berlin (2018), in the Mosse Lecture at Humboldt University in Berlin (2019) and at the Tübingen Poetry Readings (2023). His most recent publications are “Who Killed My Father?” (2018) and “A Woman’s Battles and Transformations” (2021), plus the companion volume to his conversation with Ken Loach, “Dialogue sur l'art et la politique” [“Dialog on Art and Politics”] (2023). Édouard Louis lives in Paris.
