Climate crisis, geopolitical conflicts, social inequality – we live in an era of overload, when old certainties are becoming fragile. Like almost no other, Robert Habeck, philosopher and former federal minister, is at the interface of political practice and theoretical reflection. His books (most recently “Uphill from Here”) revolve around questions of conscience, language and integrity in politics – going beyond simple power tactics. He will be joined by Florian Schroeder, a cabaret artist, journalist and clever commentator on public discourse. The two will ask: What can politics still achieve these days? How can we maintain the ability to debate amidst the noise of the opinion markets? How can we think about freedom, when security is required? And: Is there a way to return to a discourse that is shaped not only by the need to be right, but rather by understanding?
