About Judith Schalansky

Born in Greifswald in 1980, Judith Schalansky studied art history and communication design. She currently lives in Berlin, where she works as a freelance author and book designer. Both her “Atlas of Remote Islands” (2009) and her novel “The Giraffe’s Neck” (2011) were honored as “the most beautiful German books of the year” by Stiftung Buchkunst [Book Art Foundation]. For her book “An Inventory of Certain Losses” she won the 2018 Wilhelm Raabe Prize. Since spring 2013, she has been publishing the “Naturkunden” [Natural Sciences] book series.
