About Jan-Werner Müller
Born in 1970, Jan-Werner Müller teaches political theory and the history of modern political thought at Princeton University. His works include “Constitutional Patriotism” (2007), “Contesting Democracy. Political Ideas in Twentieth Century Europe” (2011) and the essay “What Is Populism?” (2016). “What Is Populism?” was translated into numerous languages and is considered a key text for understanding contemporary political developments. Jan-Werner Müller regularly writes opinion pieces on current affairs for publications such as Foreign Affairs, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, New York Times and Süddeutsche Zeitung.
