About Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht
Born in 1948, Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht is the Emeritus Albert Guérard Professor in Literature at Stanford University. He is also Distinguished Professor of Romance Literatures at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Bonn. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has received numerous awards for his work, including the culture prize from the City of Würzburg.
