About Florian Illies
Born in 1971, Florian Illies was head of the arts and culture section of the Sunday newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung and managed the Auktionshaus Grisebach. He is a co-publisher of newspaper Die Zeit. His global hit “1913: The Year Before the Storm” established a new genre. His most recent bestsellers include “The Magic of Silence” about Caspar David Friedrich and “As the Sun Goes Down: The Mann Family in Sanary”.
