About Elisabeth Lechner
Cultural studies scholar Elisabeth Lechner obtained her doctorate at the University of Vienna with a thesis about “disgusting” female bodies and body positivity. She conducts research at the interface of pop culture studies, feminist media studies, and affect & body studies. She publishes academic works and essays and gives workshops on media skills, feminism, body positivity, body shaming and lookism. She also worked as an expert on digitalization politics in the Office for Digital Affairs at the Austrian Chamber of Labor.
