About Anna-Verena Nosthoff
Anna-Verena Nosthoff is a junior professor of ethics of digitalization at the University of Oldenburg and co-director of the Critical Data Lab (Humboldt University of Berlin/University of Oldenburg). Her research interests and focus areas include the power of big tech, digital structural transformation of the public as well as forms of techno-authoritarianism and techno-fascism. Her monograph “Cybernetics and Critique. A Theory of Digital Governance” was published by Suhrkamp in 2026. Previously, Nosthoff was a visiting researcher at Princeton University, a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a fellow at the Weizenbaum Institute.
