About Anja Backhaus
Anja Backhaus studied political science, German literature and history at the University of Cologne. She has lived in Cologne for 30 years and works as a TV and radio presenter at WDR (WDR5, 1Live, WDR television, EinsFestival). She also had a temporary stint at the private broadcaster Vox. In addition to her numerous TV and radio jobs, Anja Backhaus emcees discussion panels, award ceremonies and festivals.
Since 2011, she has been Germany’s ambassador for the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity.
