Michael Rüsenberg, born in 1948, is a music journalist. He studied, theatre, film and television as well as sociology and philosophy. He primarily creates jazz broadcasts for NDR, SWR and WDR (1973-2019). In 1989 he was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize in Silver for his documentary “Schöne Poesie ist Krampf im Klassenkampf”, and in 2015 he received the WDR Jazz Prize for his lifetime achievements. Rüsenberg moderates the talk series “Gedankensprünge” in Bonn and is currently working on a book on improvisation.
