About Sarah Held
Sarah Held is a cultural scholar and artist. She teaches and researches as a postdoc at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and is a lecturer for fashion and gender studies at the University of Art and Design Linz. Feminist interventions and forms of resistance against sexualised violence/femicide are the subjects of her research and artistic-activist practice. She co-founded the art collective Revolt of the Sisters. She also teaches and works on body, gender and material culture of queer feminist pornography. Most recently, she curated the exhibition pornotopia revised at Kunsthalle Exnergasse together with Sylvia Sadzinski. Her monograph “Zur Materialität des feministischen Widerstands. Textile Agency gegen sexualisierte Gewalt und Femicides” appeared in 2021.
